Cravings

I'm always hungry lately. I'm not pregnant, but I am hungry and needing something ooy gooy. I love all those wonderful desserts with chocolate fudge and nuts on top. They are all wonderful.

That is not however what I am craving - I'm craving God. I want to know him better. I want to hear his voice in my life. I'm crazy for that Guy! I want to sing in His presence. I want to just experience Him on a big time basis. I want His Ooy gooy favor in my life.

I think I'm in love!

Thanks Lord for the Present of your Presence in our lives.

Sing to Open His Temple

I was reading in Revelation and I came accross this wonderful passage in chapter 15

“Great and marvelous are your works,
O Lord God, the Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
O King of the nations.
Who will not fear you, Lord,
and glorify your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come and worship before you,
for your righteous deeds have been revealed.”

Then I looked and saw that the Temple in heaven,
God’s Tabernacle, was thrown wide open.

When we were praising the Lord Sunday Morning at church
I know the Temple doors were wide open - the annointing was good!
Thank you Lord for opening yourself up for us!

Dirt on Me

Satan has dirt on me......... and everyother person on the planet. He is the accuser of the Brethren - and he is always looking for "dirt" on me.

I've given him many chances to accuse me - and make me believe that I am not good enough to do, be or recieve anything from the Father - because of the "dirt" on me.

He likes to gossip it around, slander - and take me out of commission. In fact this whole planet is a dirty place. Have you ever looked up into the bright lights on a big stage and seen the dirt filtering down? We are dirt, we do dirt, and we live in dirt. No matter how hard I scrub I can't get clean. My dirt is irremovable. - So Satan you are right I am dirty.

My dirt is irremovable - but it is coverable. "In Him" I'm righteous. I am "dirt dusted with Divinity" - says Jill Briscoe.

No more - Satan, get thee behind me! No matter what you see or what you hear Christ has taken my dirt away as far as east is from the west. You can't immobilize me with your dirt on me. I'm set free IN HIM. As long as I am IN HIM - there is no more dirt.

I John 1:9 But if we confess our sins to God, he can always be trusted to forgive us and take our sins away.

Nose Candy

I try to exercise in my old age. I'm not allowed to run the 6 mi. a day that I use to run each morning but I still exercise. I walk 3 mi. every morning or do the stair stepper for 45 min.

On one of my walks I was admiring all the beautiful flowers that have resurrected this Spring. I don't think it is a coincidence that Easter is in the Spring. The flowers are out! They are eye candy - and show us that creation is real, alive and so is their Creator. I think the colors of heaven will be even more radiant, deep and alive than what we experience on earth.

The Lord on my walk - gave me a breath of Heaven - His nose candy. I'm sure this mimics the beautiful, alive and fragrant experiences we will have in Heaven. Just like the earthly tabernacle was a type of the true tabernacle in Heaven. This "nose candy" isn't connected to my stomach but to my spirit. Have you smelled the lilacs, honeysuckle, jasmine, myrtle and the laurel hedges? It is just a forerunner of the Heavenly fragrance to come. This perfume is an expression of His glory - His Creation.

Romans 1:20 "For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God."

Heaven by Faith

It was by faith that Abraham was able to please God. It was by faith that you and I are able to be please Him. So what does faith do for us?

It brings us closer to our God. To be in FAITH brings a bit of heaven a little closer to you.

We pray for healing - by faith. We pray for finances - by faith. We pray for others by faith. We pray for our church, our country, our families, Salvation - by faith.

Why? Because we want a little bit of heaven to be present among us. We need His presence in our life to do the things He has called us to do. Without faith - we would be like everyother lost person on this planet.

Faith cements us into our belief system. We believe by Faith that He is and that He rewards those who diligently Seek Him.

The Question is - are we Seeking? If "yes" then by faith you have those things, attitudes, love, & joy that you need to be successful in this life.

I believe by Faith that God loves me - even when things don't go my way - by Faith I will because I am in Him. By Faith Heaven is in me - as well as a place I am going after death.

Disposable Christians.

If you took a disposable paper cup and washed it in the dishwasher chances are it would disentegrate. Because it is disposable. And through the dishwasher of life we are disposable too! Our bodies are disposable.

At our Christian conception our spirits were instantly changed and made new.

We go through this life working out our salvation by constantly renewing our minds and changing our actions to model His.

But our bodies - they are disposable. They wear out, waste away. I use to run 6 mi. a day - and now I'm lucky if I walk 3. Our bodies weren't made to last.

The good news - we have a new body waiting for us at the glorification. In the after life in His presence - there is a new body for you and me.
The Kingdom of Heaven is not meat and drink but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Meat and drink are disposable - so don't emphasize the disposable in your life emphasize righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Emphasize Heaven - the goal and our ending point. Emphasize His rule in your life - not the disposable.

I'm Sick - Where is my New Body???

Paul learned how to be content in whatever state he was in - but how can you be content in sickness?
I've been sick this past week - and I'm tired of blowing my nose, scarfing down asprin and advil cold & sinus. I want out of this body! I know I have a new one coming! Where is it Lord - I'm ready.
It will be so glorious to not have to worry about my knee that doesn't want to run any more. And my hair that doesn't want to stay the correct color. And my wrinkles or my rash or my........ You know what I mean. I'm sick of this old body not cooperating with what I want it to do.
I've got my new body all picked out. It doesn't worry about weight gain because it has a marvelous motabolism. My hair always has "good" days. All the wrinkles are gone - and my clothes fit perfectly. It sings perfectly and never ever wants to leave the Presence of the Lord.
While I'm waiting for my new one - I guess I better follow after Paul as he follows after Christ. Philippians 4:11 RSVA
Not that I complain of want; for I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content. (By His Stripes I am Healed)

It isn't me, is it????

John 14:17-18 After sunset he came with the Twelve. As they were at the supper table eating, Jesus said, "I have something hard but important to say to you: One of you is going to hand me over to the conspirators, one who at this moment is eating with me."
19 Stunned, they started asking, one after another, "It isn't me, is it?"

How many times have we asked this question of ourselves knowing we have denied our Savior in our thoughts, our life style, as the model for our lives.

When I was in High School - My boyfriend was not the best influence on me. He was a bit older and I chose him over my Savior. I remember the feelings of guilt when I would lie to my parents.

One night my girl friend and I were dropped off at the theater by my step-mom, and as she went around the corner - so we thought - we got into a car with our boy friends. Then before the movie was done, we were dropped off in front of the theaters to complete the perfect cover up.

When I got home that night - was I in for a surprise. Caught! Instead of the perfect cover up - it was the perfect flop.

Are you sure you saw me get in the car with a couple of guys? It isn't me is it???

Are you sure you saw me say that, do that, think that Lord? Are you sure you saw me hold that grudge, covet that adorable ring, or hurt that person?
It isn't me is it????

Yes, but I still Love you - choose Me, Choose Life.

Marry a Prostitue?

Gomer was a prostitue.
Hosea was a prophet.
They were an unlikely pair.

Does Gomer change her ways?
Is she faithful - now that she is married?

No she "steps" out on her beloved.
Two of her Children are No-Mercy and No-Body.

Do we change our ways?
Are we faithful - now that we are the bride of Christ.

No we "step" out on our beloved.
We hurt Him, the One we love so much.

Hosea was told to buy her back - from the slave trade.
and rename his children All-Mercy and Somebody.

Christ bought us with His own blood.
And renamed us "little Christs".
He gave us His name and took us back into the family.

Whether it is John 3:16 or 1 John 1:9.
We have a Father who calls us All-Mercy and Someboy in "Him".

Johnny Jew vs Bobby Babylon

3/19/10
Jeremiah's message to the Lord's people was very unpopular.
Repent and give up to the Babylonians - for this is the Lord's will for your life.

There were three deportations to Babylon and good old Neb took the best of the crop.
Those who were deported became single minded toward God.
They never went into idolatry again.
Their disciplined life style kept them unified.

Johnny Jew would never eat dinner with Bobby Babylon.
And because of their disciplined life syle they were kept separate or sanctified.

Discipline is meant for restoration not for destruction.

I choose you Lord.

Your name?

What is your name?
Your name is your fame.
Who you are and what you represent.
God changed many of his "covenant" people.

Abram to Abraham. Father of the Altitudes to Father of a Nation.
Jacob the deciever to Israel the Soldier of God.

Abigail - Father's joy.
Naomi - Pleasant.
Mary - Bitter. ( I believe her father wanted her to be a boy)

Rebecca - a Noose or Captivating.

What is your name - and what does it mean in God's kingdom.
Do the devils tremble?
Do the Saints know who you are?

Your name is your Fame !

- But your Fame is shortlived in this life.
You are only remembered for 2-3 generations.
In Christ you will live forever.

Change your name to Christian - and the you in Him will be glorified forever.

Rebecca - the Christian.
It has a nice ring to it.

A Bowl of Cherries.

"If life is a bowl of cherries what am I doing in the pits?" - says Erma Bombeck. She had it right! I've been reading Jeremiah lately and his life was in the pits! He was beaten, he couldn't marry, he was called a liar, his life's work was burned, he was put in stocks and bonds, he had an unpopular message, and he was thrown into a pit! Can you imagine?
But in the middle of his lamenting crying and weeping he writes Lamentations 3:22-23 -
"God's loyal love couldn't have run out,
his merciful love couldn't have dried up.
They're new every morning.
How great your faithfulness!
I'm sticking with God (I say it over and over).
He's all I've got left."
Life might be "in the pits" But God's faithfulness is new every morning. If Jeremiah can praise God in the middle of his disaster - so can I. Bring the cherries on! Let's make a pie.

Pleasant Words

Pleasant Words are like a Honey comb - sweet to the soul and health to the bones.

Are you a Sour grape or a Honey pot?

Sour grapes tend to spew out things when squeezed.
Sour grapes bring death to our self image,
Sour grapes bring death to our dreams
and death to our relationships.
Their heart has been hurt - and they intend to spew on others.

Words have the power of life and death - and we need to choose life when we talk.

Honey Pots on the other hand - let those sweet words come out and they bring new life.
Honey Pots sweeten our lives.
Honey Pots use their words to encourage, strengthen, love and heal.
Honey Pots accept and sweeten even the sour grapes in life.
Honey Pots stay sweet by forgiving and choosing to live without bitterness.

It is not easy being a Honey Pot
But it is not fulfilling to be a sour grape.

Fallow Ground

Jeremiah 4:3
For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem,
Break up your fallow ground,
and do not sow among thorns.

Hosea 10:12
Sow with a view to righteousness,
Reap in accordance with kindness
Break up your fallow ground,
For it is time to seek the LORD
Until He comes to rain righteousness on you.

How do we break up our fallow ground - or hard heart?
How do we till the soil of our heart's until it is soft to receive the Word-seed?
It is a matter of repenting of your sins.
It is a matter of repenting of your attitude.
It is a matter of choosing God over any other thing or person.
The Word doesn't work on dead pan heart - so we need to choose a humble heart.
This hard economy doesn't mean we have to have a hard heart.
Have we made the ground hard with tears, or unbelief?
I know that is a temptation for me - so I choose today to keep my heart soft so I can plant the seed of righteousness in it.
Lord Bless your seed and may it produce abundantly above all we can ask or think.
Help us keep our hearts toward the things that make you cry and laugh.
We love you Lord - till our hearts and loosen the soil.

Sing Your Way into His Presence

Ps 100:1-2
On your feet now - applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence.

Know this: GOD is God, and God, GOD.

He made us; we didn't make him.
We're his people, his well-tended sheep.

Enter with the password: "Thank you!"
Make yourselves at home, talking praise.
Thank him. worship him.

For GOD is sheer beauty,
all-generous in love,
loyal always and ever.

Have you ever thought about singing your way into his presence? David did he used the harp out in the sheep fields to come before the Lord - and sing his way into His presence.

God is so close to us and he wants to be a part of our lives. He loves to hear you worship Him with your voice and sing at the top of your lungs. "In Him we move and live and have our being." I've been in His presence just singing in the car to him or singing with a CD. It is an overwhelming feeling of love. - Truly a "red cord" experience. Next time you are in church, by yourself in the car, or at a place - get involved with God. Wrap yourself in adoration and sing to Him - with or without a CD. As you reach out to him in adoration and singing - he will reach out to you and swing his red cord over your life.

Rebecca's Red Cord

So what is a Red Cord Blog? - Salvation

There was a red cord that saved Rahab in Jericho from extinction.

She had the faith to believe God for her redemption.

This Red cord starts in Genesis and goes all the way to Revelation. Rahab tied a red cord in her window as an act of faith.

Rahab: (Joshua 2:10) For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.

2:11 when we heard it, our hearts melted and no courage remained in any man any longer because of you; for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

2:21 She said, According to your words so be it. So she sent them away, and they departed; and she tied the scarlet cord in the window.

It is interesting that Rahab was the only one in Jericho who believed that God was who He said He was. - she alone took her fear and turned in into faith. Can we do that? Take the fear of man and turn it into faith with God? Feel the fear and do it anyway. She risked being different, she risked her reputation, she risked a new beginning. Even the spies were in fear for their lives. Fear of man can be exchanged for the Fear of God.

Today we are facing all kinds of fear - But God has not changed - he still parts the Sea of fear when we step out in faith.
